  • Recognising how trauma manifests in a client or patient, and how to respond
  • Understanding how trauma affects the nervous system and can perpetuate chronic health conditions
  • Implementing culturally safe, trauma-informed practice within your organisation
  • Blending Indigenous Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) methodologies with Western research and mental health perspectives

Coaching That Turns Training Into Real, Lasting Change

Most training stops at knowledge. Our coaching, available online or in-person, is an optional addition for participants who want to embed real, lasting change into how they work with community, clients and colleagues every day, alongside Indigenous trauma-informed health professionals.

What Coaching Looks LIke

Why Our Training?

100% Indigenous Owned & Operated

The Seedling Group is a 100% Indigenous owned and operated organisation. Training developed and led by First Nations peoples, for anyone who works with or alongside the community.

Indigenous Standpoint Theroy

We approach trauma through an Indigenous lens, not just a cultural competency checkbox. This produces genuinely adaptive, contextualised learning.

Indigenous Health Professionals

Our facilitation team consists of Indigenous trauma-informed health professionals, not generalist trainers.

Two Knowledge Systems

We combine generations of First Nations healing knowledge with Western psychological and neurological science , an integration that is a point of difference.

Location isn't a Barrier

From Thursday Island to Port Hedland to Tasmania. We’ve been invited to deliver our training across Australia and offshore, including in communities, government and not-for-profit settings.

Coaching Bridges Theory to Practice

We are committed to making this training accessible to everyone, wherever they are in their journey of understanding trauma.  Coaching allows us to support you wherever you are and to apply this knowledge in a practical way in your life.

One helpful thing I will take away from this workshop is a better understanding of the different traumas and the effect on your body.  The window of tolerance and how you can regulate your emotions to change your behaviour. My favourite part of the training was that the presenters are relatable and their understanding of trauma is extensive.

I loved how you sat different knowledge systems beside one another and helped me delve deeper into unknown territory. The presentation was well-paced and informative. I loved the Padlet and additional resources!!  Well done on pulling together the evidence-base and then putting these many concepts forward in easy-to-follow and understanding language illustrated with many examples and stories. Thank you for such a rich learning experience.

I feel the use of a mixture of resources – Indigenous and Western, worked well and increased my knowledge base.  The perspectives shared through life and work experiences of the two presenters provided me with deep insight and awareness around trauma.  The information provided and broad coverage of content along with the checking in and checking out kept me safe as some personal trauma experiences arose in me.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between the online training and in-person workshops?

The online training is self-paced: 8 modules of approximately one hour each, available on your own schedule ($1,650 per person). In-person workshops are 2–3 day intensive programs delivered on-site by two facilitators ($2,200 per person). Both include the same core content; in-person adds interactive group work and direct facilitation.

What is the coaching option and who is it for?

Coaching is a 1-2 day program, an online or in-person workshop, and can be done during the training. It's designed to help you apply what you’ve learned in the modules to real situations in your workplace or community. For online sessions, we can work with you to find a frequency and timing that fits your team's schedule. It’s led by Indigenous trauma-informed health professionals. It’s ideal for teams or organisations who want to make sure the training actually changes the way they work, not just what they know.

Can my whole team or organisation enrol together?

Yes. Group enrolments are available for the online modules, and discounts apply for in-person and online workshops of 10 or more participants. Contact us at hello@theseedlinggroup.org to discuss group rates and coordinated delivery options.

Is this training only for Indigenous organisations?

No. Billabongs of Knowledge is designed for First Nations Peoples, those who work with or provide services to the community, and anyone who wants to understand trauma from an Indigenous perspective. Government departments, not-for-profits, health services and educators are all welcome.

Can you deliver training at our location?

Absolutely. The Seedling Group has delivered training across Australia , from Thursday Island to Port Hedland to Tasmania , as well as offshore. We design bespoke, culturally appropriate programs for your specific audience and context.

How do I know if this training is right for my organisation?

Take our free Organisational Audit, a short self-assessment that helps you identify gaps in cultural safety and trauma-informed practice in your organisation. If you answer ‘no’ or ‘unsure’ to three or more of the 10 questions, this training is for you.
